performance relies on systems, Not Talent.

E3 Performance Lab is an applied performance engineering firm for executives, entrepreneurs, and elite performers in high-stakes environments who want to operate at a high level for decades, not seasons.

The work is grounded in first principles from physiology, neuroscience, systems engineering, human factors, stress biology, and decision science, all of which govern how humans perform under sustained load.

E3 philosophy

Most people think performance is about effort, discipline, or talent.

It isn’t.

Performance is the emergent result of a well-crafted system that considers areas such as:

  • Unique circadian rhythm profiles

  • Energy management and recovery strategies

  • Stress load and allostatic (“wear and tear”) regulation

  • Physical activity and load expression (strength, endurance, power…)

  • Cognitive load and attention

  • Life-load management and physical environment

  • Identity, values, purpose, and motivation architecture

When the system works, output feels controlled, and people feel content, ambitious, and in command.

When it doesn’t, people grind harder and break faster.

E3 Performance Lab exists to design, engineer, and refine that system.

Pillars of Performance

  1. Capacity Building Before Output

You cannot sustainably perform beyond your physical and cognitive capacity.

  2. Stress Is Not the Enemy

Unmanaged stress is. Properly dosed stress is a stimulus.

  3. Recovery is a Performance Skill

Not rest. Not avoidance. Skillful recovery.

  4. Consistency Matters More Than Motivation

Stacking small wins every day beats periodic big resolutions.

  5. Healthy Longevity is the Ultimate KPI

Performance that shortens your career + time with those you care about most is the ultimate failure.

Working with e3

  • All engagements are by mutual invitation.

    This is deliberate.

    The work requires:

    • Personal responsibility

    • Intellectual honesty

    • A willingness to change, sometimes dramatically

If these conditions aren’t present, our efforts don’t produce results.

There is no public sales page.

    There is no open enrollment.

Go to the diagnostic below to assess your readiness and whether we’d make a good team.

    Corporate & Organizational Engagements

E3 Performance Lab also works with select organizations, leadership teams, and executive groups.

These engagements are custom-designed and may include executive coaching, leadership performance systems, and team performance development.

The E3 Performance Diagnostic

The E3 Performance Diagnostic is not a product.

It is a filter.

It exists to determine whether:

  • You are prepared to do the work

  • You are prepared to make the investment

  • There is mutual philosophical fit

The diagnostic surfaces where performance is leaking, and whether those leaks are addressable.

Completing it does not guarantee an invitation.

Not completing it guarantees there won’t be one.

Background

My work is shaped by time spent operating in both high-performance business environments and elite sport performance systems.

Over several decades, I’ve worked inside organizations where:

  • Decisions carry real consequences

  • Performance is measured over years, not quarters

  • Stress is chronic, not episodic

In parallel, I’ve studied and applied principles from:

  • Physiology and human performance

  • Strength & conditioning and sports science

  • Performance psychology and systems thinking

I’ve worked with executives, entrepreneurs, athletes, and other elite operators in high-stakes environments whose contexts differ, but whose constraints are remarkably similar.

The unique systems we jointly develop, rooted in core values and identity, create a foundation of sustainable high performance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in applied physiology and kinesiology (concentration in human performance science)

  • Certified Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator (NSCA)

  • Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN)

  • Hintsa Performance–certified coach (performance coaching provider to Formula 1 drivers and teams) + ICF-certified coach

  • Decades of experience in high-stakes business environments (5x early stage ventures, ex-McKinsey, ex-IBM) + b-school professor + MBA + M.S., Engineering Science + B.S., Computer Science/Business

  • Lifelong competitive athlete, 4th degree black belt

These credentials inform my work and set me apart from other performance coaches.

My most impactful relationships are often with individuals and organizations who value that “I’ve been in their shoes”—personally, professionally, or both.
